The Cape of Good Hope is a rocky headland on the Atlantic coast of South Africa, which gave its name to the early Cape Colony established in 1652, later the region which was to become the Cape Province (officially the Province of the Cape of Good Hope) in 1910, and recently to a section of the Table Mountain National Park.
